Special Issue Introduction
In recent years, the integration of smart biomaterials with flexible electronics has opened new frontiers in personalized healthcare, regenerative medicine, and wearable diagnostics. This Special Issue aims to highlight the latest breakthroughs in the design, fabrication, and application of intelligent biomaterials and microstructures that offer dynamical response or adaptation to physiological signals, environmental stimuli, or therapeutic needs. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, stimuli-responsive hydrogels, self-healing materials, biodegradable scaffolds, stretchable sensors, implantable electronics, sensor integrated robotics, and skin-interfaced systems. Contributions exploring the synergy between biocompatibility, mechanical flexibility, and functional performance are particularly encouraged. The Special Issue welcomes both original research papers and comprehensive reviews, with a focus on innovations that bridge the gap between material science, manufacturing engineering, biomedical engineering, and clinical translation. We hope this collection will serve as a valuable platform to inspire future developments in the next generation of smart and flexible healthcare technologies
