Abstract

The convergence of wearable technologies, metaverse and AI is ushering in a transformative era in healthcare, enabling real-time diagnostics, predictive analytics, and precision therapy. This talk will explore the groundbreaking potential of these innovations, with a focus on AI-driven smart wearables for enhanced diagnostics, rehabilitation, and chronic disease management. We will delve into several cutting-edge wearable technologies developed through interdisciplinary collaborations among engineers, scientists, clinicians, and industry partners for diabetic foot ulcer management, spine  and joint health monitoring and haptic gloves for rehabilitation care and medical training in a health metaverse. The integration of these wearables with the health metaverse—through digital twins, virtual clinics, and immersive therapy—further bridges the gap between physical and digital care, empowering patients and clinicians alike. As we step into the era of precision medicine, this talk will highlight how smart wearables, AI, and the metaverse are not only redefining diagnostics but also enabling personalized healthcare.
