Professor Yamei Yu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotherapy at Sichuan University, China. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Peking University in 2007, followed by postdoctoral training at Immune Disease Institute of Harvard Medical School. Since joining Sichuan University in 2013, she has established an independent research team, and currently serves as a doctoral advisor. Her academic excellence has been recognized through prestigious awards including the Sichuan Provincial Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. With a longstanding research focus on novel bacterial defense mechanisms, Professor Yu has authored over 30 publications in prestigious international journals. Her work has not only uncovered the biotechnological potential of these systems but has also pioneered innovative phage engineering approaches to combat drug-resistant pathogens.
