Open Access Journal Index (OAJ) is an academic service platform developed by the Joint Laboratory for Open Access Resource Evaluation, a collaborative initiative between the National Science Library, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NSLC), and China Educational Publications Import & Export Corporation (CEPIEC).

Rooted in China's open science practices and aligned with international scholarly evaluation criteria, OAJ adopts a comprehensive assessment framework combining expert peer review with data analytics. The evaluation encompasses multiple dimensions, including academic quality, publishing standards, open access policies, research integrity, and societal impact.
